ZOOM IN 3 - EdTech galleries and the future of education

future of education
Education and technology
In this third Zoom In of the NextGen Microcities project, the UIA expert Fabio Sgaragli interviews the key people behind the development of the new Science Gallery in Ventspils. Within this amazing permanent exhibition center, the NextGen Microcities project contributed to the development of one of the eight galleries, as part of the project’s activities dedicated to preparing young people for the future of work.

Science Galleries are being developed around the world. These educational social infrastructures enable young people to develop the skills they need for the 21st century, equipping them to thrive in the knowledge economy through the skills of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) and the essential skills of creativity, problem solving, adaptability, resilience and communication. Ideally, Science Galleries can offer young people opportunities to discover new ideas when they are making key decisions about future course choices and careers.

This Zoom In explores the concept of Science Galleries and describes the EdTech Gallery developed in the context of the NextGen initiative, and then delves into the specific challenges associated with the creation of such an innovative and ambitious project activity.
