On Sunday 26 June, the Ypelaerpark in Tilburg North was the place to be during the YPIE_FEST. This culture festival, organized by young residents from Tilburg Noord as part of Second Skin Tilburg, was all about culture, identity, fashion, music and talent development. Children, youth and the elderly came together and were inspired by various workshops, exhibitions, sports activities and clothing. And all this while enjoying food and drink.

Many partners participated in the YPIE_FEST, including: FashionClash, RAW LOVE, R-Newt, Stichting Warm Hart, Police Team Groene Beemden, Wijkcentrum de Ypelaer, Ruru Styling, Willem II football amateurs, Het Zuidelijk Toneel / The Scene and Omroep Tilburg.

The Hooooooodie Project

During YPIE__FEST, the end result of The Hooooooodie Project by fashion designer Antoine Peters was presented. Nearly 400 people between the ages of 7 and 70 took part in the workshop in Tilburg in recent months or made a piece from home. The result is a hoodie with sleeves of no less than 212 meters long, with many personal stories from participants!

About Second Skin Tilburg

Second Skin is a multi-year participation project of the FASHIONCLASH Foundation in Tilburg Noord, established in the context of ForwArt, which is financed by the European UIA scheme.

Since 2021, ForwArt has organized an activity program aimed at young people in collaboration with a number of organizations including ROC Tilburg, Het Zuidelijk Toneel, Corpo Maquina, WonenBreburg, Police and Omroep Tilburg. All these partners invest together in the development of a cultural ecosystem in Tilburg Noord. The aim is to create more opportunities in Tilburg Noord for personal identity formation and expression and for young people to experience more future prospects. This experimental initiative thus contributes to the well-being and to increasing the individual resilience of young people in Tilburg. This also increases the resilience of young people against, among other things, criminal influences.
