Vilawatt opens its call for demo-renovations
To do so, one of the first steps is to select the 60 dwellings that will participate in the urban innovative action out of the over 8,000 dwellings of the project area, meeting high energy saving potentials.
To achieve the objective to select the most advantageous buildings to take part in the scheduled public call for applications, the partner Associació LIMA – Low Impact Mediterranean Architecture – led a team of experts carrying out a meticulous work of deep scanning the building stock in terms of energy needs and define different typologies. Apart of the typical indicators such as areas, window to wall ratios or insulation standards, urban factory influenced parameters such as isolation and ratio of exposed building surface / building area were analyzed building by building. LIMA undertook his study by combining virtual tools and site visits.
The data treatment tool ENERHUB developed by the partner EGM allowed an easy mapping of the gathered information of nearly 1,000 buildings. The output is a complete database with multiple visualization options that allowed defining 5 typologies, each one including similar behavior in terms of energy performance and renovation options.
The energy performance simulations show first results appointing buildings from the Mid 50ies to end of the 70ies with particular interest for the project. The challenge is now to set up the framework for the energy transition conditions and to engage the communities of owners to take part in the deep renovation.
Viladecans City Council, through the partner VIMED, has opened the call for selected communities to apply.
