How are the Insert and Adaptér developments in Újbuda?
After a long preparatory work, Insert, our new community creativity management IT platform, has been launched. Since its launch at the beginning of October, around 2.000 people have used the site to find or create projects, share resources and connect to one another. Insert is now also inspiring people with their own programmes on how to develop community in simple ways. And through these, it teaches people to create their own programmes and encourages community activity.
Some examples of current Insert Programmes in Újbuda:
Private Stage: January to April 2023
The event series feature 7 performances in 7 unusual venues (music, slam, theatre, spoken word), but the location will only be revealed on the morning of the event. The venues can accommodate small numbers (20-30 people) to ensure that we really break down the wall between performers and audience. With the Private Stage, our aim is to introduce people to the concept of a flat concert and to encourage them to organise their own events. This will be supported by a call for applications in the future. You can register for events via the Insert. The target audience for the private stage is anyone aged 18-50 who is open to this type of event. The programme has managed to register 1400 users on the Insert so far, with 5 out of 7 events still to go. For the second event, 430 people have registered for 25 places, so it can be said that the programme is very popular.
“NagyElőadó” music talent contest: February to May 2023
With the music talent contest for university students our aim is to revitalise the concert culture in the district's university colleges and to give young talent the opportunity to showcase themselves. We would like to involve the students of two popular Hungarian universities, ELTE and BME from the district where the semi-finals will be held. The final will take place at our partner: MU Theather. Our prizes include participation in prestigious Hungarian festival. In our jury, we will include popular Hungarian performers. We will also use Insert platform for community voting and registration.
Insert Idea Contest
We are looking for enthusiastic teams whose projects address the residents of Újbuda, would make Újbuda's environment more liveable and interesting, provide practical answers to sustainability issues, or approach problems in an innovative, experimental way. Many applications have been received and the jury has already started to select the best ones, with live presentations taking place this week. We will help develop the projects by mentoring and sharing local resources.
The other key element of the CUP4Creativity is the Adaptér, Újbuda’s new creative technological knowledge hub.
The Adaptér is a community knowledge base and training centre that provides an opportunity for people, creators and innovators from Újbuda to inspire and learn from each other on the most important issues of the present and the future. Its programme is constantly adapted to the needs of the community, inspiring creation with new ideas and practical experiences. Its programming follows the latest developments in the world of science and art.
In spring 2023, Adaptér will open at 10 Bercsényi Street, comprising a workshop space, a professional sound and video studio, a reception area with digital experiences and a creative project space. Its aim is to provide a space to stimulate creativity and creative inspiration for people with different experiences.
From December 2022 to May 2023, we are holding a series of Adaptér kick-off programmes once a month to give visitors a taste of how Adaptér will work. Each programme will be linked to one of the 4 main themes of Adaptér.
