UIA at the Urban Development Network conference on Mobility
As part of the dissemination activities of the Urban Innovative Actions second Call for Proposals, representatives from the UIA permanent secretariat will introduce the call with a focus on one of its three topics: urban mobility. The event will offer urban authorities the opportunity to meet with their peers as well as with innovative demonstration projects, practitioner networks, financing organisations, the European Innovation Partnership for Smart Cities (the Urban Mobility Cluster) and/or cities investing Structural Funds on urban mobility challenges. This event is complimentary to the four applicant seminars the UIA will host in December 2016 and January 2017.
The event will be opened by Henrik Hololei (Director-General, European Commission, DG Mobility and Transport) and Normunds Popens (Deputy Director-General, European Commission, DG Regional and Urban Policy). Participants will be able to learn about the state of the art in innovative and tested urban transport solutions such as electric buses, cleaner logistics, infrastructure, walking and cycling, mobility planning and new mobility services. Urban mobility experts and experienced practitioners will bring in their knowledge on the development and implementation of innovative mobility solutions.
This event is a great opportunity to share and to develop integrated plans (like SUMPs), how to invest in and how to grow smart city mobility in your cities, and shape Europe's smart city mobility future!
Further information will be published soon on the website of DG REGIO.
