Project :BRIDGE - Building the Right Investments for Delivering a Growing Economy
The message of the BRIDGE career start guarantee, part of the National Urgency Programme South Rotterdam (NPRZ), is reaching more and more people. As a result, an increasing number of employers are informing the NPRZ that they would like to participate in the scheme, under which students in South Rotterdam are given an exclusive job guarantee at the start of their intermediate vocational course. A great deal of work has gone on behind the scenes to increase the uptake of the BRIDGE career starting guarantees. One example is the BRIDGE Go for a job! event.
Project :CURANT - Co-housing and case management for Unaccompanied young adult Refugees in ANTwerp
On 12 and 13 June 2019, CURANT is hosting an international conference, together with the UIA Secretariat and the cities of Bologna, Vienna and Utrecht. These four cities are all responsible for migration projects from the first call of UIA.
The CitiCAP project will launch the world’s first pilot on personal carbon trading on mobility emissions in the Autumn 2019. One of the City of Lahti’s climate goals is to become carbon neutral by 2040, and it is now inviting other cities to join in efforts to combat the hard-to-tackle mobility emissions.
Project :APPLAUSE - Alien Plant Species from harmful to useful with citizens' led activities
As partner in Applause project, the Pulp and Paper Institute (ICP) successfully produced 350 kg of paper from Invasive alien plant species, this time from Canadian / Giant Goldenrod. Compared to paper from Japanese Knotweed, which we already successfully produced in 2016, this paper is of brighter colour and with finer, smoother texture.
This Zoom-in aims to take a critical view of personal carbon trading (PCT), outlining some of its core components with a particular focus on the challenges that will be faced by the city of Lahti as well as the linkages with other EU policies and lessons learned from other related initiatives.

Project :BRICK-BEACH - Artificial regeneration of urban beaches with eroded recylced aggregates
Construction and demolition waste is always seen as one of the main barriers for implementing a circular economy. Instead, in Velez-Malaga they saw it as an opportunity and thanks to BRICK_BEACH they are using debris to regenerate a sandy beach inside the city.
