On May 24th we welcomed a delegation from the Finnish CitiCAP project, which, like TMaaS, focuses on smart city mobility. We had an interesting and useful meeting with our fellow project leaders from Lahti, which allowed us to compare both projects and to profit from a mutually beneficial knowledge sharing experience.

At the end of February 2018 a key step of CoRDEES has just started: the deployment of sensors (i.e instrumentation) in buildings. In fact, the instrumentation of each building is necessary to gather data in order to build and supply the energy platform of the district.

How can one reach young people who'd rather not be reached? At least: not by organisations with (somewhat of) a government association. Young people who have role models (often peers), but have no desire to follow in their footsteps when the message that's directed at them smells of government propaganda. The BRIDGE campaign's communication approach has shown that live contact can provide surprisingly positive results.

DevelopMe_: Preparing refugees for IT industry of today and tomorrow

An important key element of the CORE project is to support a quick integration into the labour market. Therefore, various activities are being realized for different target groups. Besides refugee teachers, potential entrepreneurs are being trained and prepared for their professional lives in Austria. Recently, a special training programme for freelancers was successfully finished. In an official event with Renate Brauner, Executive City Councillor of Finance, Economic and International Affairs, the participants of this programme received their certificates.

Getting citizens on board: the first TMaaS citizen research project

We recently launched an online call for citizens to participate in the first TMaaS citizen research project that focuses on the mobility behaviour of people from the city of Ghent as well as visitors. Throughout April and the first half of May, researchers carried out a mobility diary study including mobility tracking and interviews.
