SASMob Blood Donation in Szeged University Library: Blood Is Never Enough in the Midst of the Coronavirus Pandemic
In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, it is even more important to have a stabile blood supply and to not have a shortage of any blood group in the country. Therefore, the Hungarian National Blood Transfusion Service seizes every opportunity to collect blood, in a well-organised way, even from those who are not regular blood donors. It was to this end that the HNBTS and Szeged University organised tis project, which the SASMob Project also joined. The priority activities of SASMob include not only the promotion of community transport and sustainability but also supporting noble causes. This was their motivation to join the Give Blood! campaign, in whose framework they organised today’s blood donation, together with the HNBTS and Szeged University.
Fifty-eight people registered in advance – but more were queueing to give blood when we were there. (Final: 92 pers.)
Mária Lázár, leader of the Szeged Regional Blood Transfusion Centre of the Hungarian National Blood Transfusion Service said on the site that, before a long weekend, it is especially important to replenish the Service’s blood stock as much as possible – this was one of the reasons that made today’s SASMob blood giving especially important.
