Private Stage - at YOUR place
In the winter of 2023, we broke down the barriers between performers and audiences, taking Private Stage concerts, theatrical performances, and slam poetry nights to unique locations.
We were launching a competition, inviting residents from Újbuda to organize their own Private Stage event. The only requirement was to have a residence in Újbuda, whether it's an apartment, a garden, or any space where they could host a cultural event.
From the 11 applications, we chose 8 events with some still in progress. The response from the community has been entirely positive, and the diversity of venues has added a unique flavor to each event.
The Private Stage project's decentralization has not only expanded the cultural horizon but has also fostered a sense of community participation. Entrusting individuals to curate events in their own spaces has unlocked creativity and allowed for a more intimate connection between performers and the audience.
The variety of events organized under the Private Stage showed the vibrant cultural scene in Újbuda. From music to reading in community, we had different applications making it an even more diverse initiative.
As the project progresses, we look forward to the completion of the remaining events and the continued growth of Private Stage.
