BRICK BEACH- Final achievements

A pilot project has been carried out that simulates the industrial process foreseen in the Construction & Demolition Waste treatment plant through the following procedure: Rubble has been collected from the walls of an old, abandoned brick factory to be crushed and sieved in the mill to the desired size. Subsequently, they have been introduced into a concrete mixer for several hours to be eroded. Finally, the aggregate obtained has been washed to remove the fine particles adhered during the erosion process and has been spread in an area next to the sea, creating a small artificial beach for public enjoyment. The sample obtained allows the result of the work carried out to be visible among the population, helping to raise awareness among citizens about the possibility of regenerating their beaches with this material thanks to a circular economy process.

Take a look to the final achivements of BRICK-BEACH - Artificial regeneration of urban beaches with eroded recylced aggregates.
