Alone in the crowd? - a play in ÚJBUDA
The central theme of the performance revolves around the paradox of being alone in a crowd. The actors shared their personal, touching and sometimes especially deep stories. What made them even more relatable was that they sat in the audience showing that these could happen to anyone. The personal stories shared on stage resonated with universal themes in today’s Hungary.
The piece of TÁP Theatre took the audience from the intimate setting of the Mitzi Gallery to the depths of the Béla Basement, both literally and metaphorically. The use of two locations made the piece even more complex, symbolizing the depths and heights of emotions that occur when being alone in a crowd.
The performance also included music, rap pieces from the actors, and a spectacular projection to the ceiling, making the topic even stronger.
The TÁP Színház cast succeeded in creating an atmosphere where the audience was not just a passive observer but an integral part of the shared experience.
We advertised the event on our social media platform, and people could register on Insert. There were so many applications compared to the receptiveness of our venues that we had to draw lots of who could come. This process made the anticipation even bigger, making the evening a truly unique experience.
